Epsom salt is a natural mineral found commonly in Epsom, Surrey, England; it is also known as magnesium sulphate. A chemical compound made up of magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen.

It was originally discovered in the town of Epsom in Surrey, England. Despite its name, Epsom salt is a completely different compound to table salt.
